Before I composited Beautiful Bride I practiced on this image from a Quincinera portrait. The shoot was done in 2008 so could not be used for our photo club assignment. In this one I left Maggie's ears instead of the human model's...for some reason when I tried that on the bride it did not work well.

These pictures are really amazing. You did a wonderful job compositing. They are also funny. I really like the expression of the dog's eyes, you can almost see it as human. P.S. It's a good thing his tongue wasn't hanging out! There must be a commercial market out there for these pictures.
ReplyDeleteAnother fine composite, but, because you have set the bar so high, not quite up to the other two. I think the colors do not blend as well in this one. In addition, Maggie's face seems to be a little sharper and has more details than the girl's arms and dress. Again, another fine composite, but I like the other ones better.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you have opened up a new venue for your photography--dog/human portraitures by Cindi! Does have a ring!
Good job on these. I find them quite disturbing! Perhaps I'm reading more meaning into them than I should though. Something about the beauty of a prom/wedding dress portrait and a dog's face.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you Roberta! As much as I love our dogs it is too weird to see their heads on a human body. Let alone a young, slim, girl in a bride or prom dress. Originally I was thinking along the lines of characters in a child's book, sort of Princess Puppy or something...but then since the assignment was "Surreal" I kind of went in a different direction with the bride image. It was fun to do as an exercise, but I don't intend to do a body of work or anything like that.
